Snapped this one last month when out and about adding new shots and compositions to the main gallery. This location is in the Watsons Bay area of the Eastern Beaches of Sydney.

Passing Light – Limited Edition – Matt Lauder Gallery

10 years of shooting landscapes and early on I decided against releasing limited edition shots as I wanted to price my work so the majority could afford it. But over the last couple of years I have held onto a shot or two to release as Limited Edition. I have no release date for these but thought I would share one with you.

Taken earlier this year at Turimetta Beach on the Northern Beaches of Sydney on sunset.

If you follow my facebook feed you would have seen a crappy iphone photo of me at this location with the Fuji GX617 in the foreground a few weeks ago. Well this is the shot take from that spot.

This image will be in my Eastern Beaches Gallery location, along with all the other images I have in and around this part of Sydney.

Woy Woy – The Film Version – Fuji GX617 – Velvia 50 Slide Film

A few posts ago I showed you all a shot from this location on sunrise shot as a panoramic stitch shot on the 5D MkII. I even did a video tutorial for Rubbing Pixels on the post production involved to get the shot to it print ready status. Well this shot is the film version from the Fuji GX617 on Velvia 50.

Northern Beaches Aerial Photography, Manly to Palm Beach

I am currently populating my main gallery with a recent aerial shoot over the Northern Beaches and Sydney. The images will cover pretty much all the beaches that lay along the Northern Beaches coastline from Balmoral to Palm Beach.

I opted to shoot in the morning for the warmth of light on the beach. All images in the gallery are shot on slide film.

Avalon Beach Photo’s, Northern Beaches, NSW

I don’t know why but for some reason this image has always appealed to me. Is it the orange sand, the mix of colours, the morning light on the pine trees, who knows. It certainly hasn’t sold like other images of mine, but I find quite often it is the slow achieving photos in your collection that can be some of your personal favorites.

Magical Narrabeen Sunset, Northern Beaches, Sydney

Since my last post of “Fire Sky” with a crazy sunset over Sydney City I though I would show you the best sunset I have seen and shot. It’s been on my site for quite a few years now and again it was taken on a day when a massive weather cell just sat over Sydney all day like a UFO but the horizon where the sun was going to set had a perfect gap.

The light came on so quickly that it took me by surprise and I had to grab my gear and run down to the beach from my unit. I set up and was able to get of four shots and this was one of them. I remember saying to a fisherman nearby how amazing the light was, his reply was “You should have been here 5 minutes ago”, not what you want to hear.

The colours in this image are 100% natural, the drum scan has only been spot cleaned and a contrast curve added. The rest is just mother nature. Right place, Right time ….. with Velvia 50 !!

Avoca Beach Dawn on the GX617

There has been some nice sunrises getting around of late and this is one from last week. The light was so amazing you just didnt know what direction to point your camera. I think I made the right choice.
