Sheathers Wharf, Central Coast, NSW

Since buying my digital outfit my only goal was to shoot to replicate what I get from shooting slide film and today I believe I have met that target that I set for myself. On this morning I didn’t even take my 6×17 out of the bag.

Above Image : 7 image stitch @ 35mm on 24-70mm f2.8 lens, Canon 1ds Mark II.
Shutter at 1.3 sec @ F11, .9 and .6 Lee Filter Soft Grad ND filter stacked.
360 precision head.

  1. nice work Matt, that location is awesome. Good to see your finally ready to give the film away!!

  2. Thanks mate… it is a great location. If my future shots improve on this I think I will be selling some of my excess slide film on Ebay.

  3. Nice work ( well we cal it work but really we know its just pure passion with us) Matt, I like the later image a little more, maybe its the POV using the jetty to draw me to the dark cloud. I just picked up a 24-70 lens today for a steal unexpectedly. Was going to wait till I hit the US but the price was to good to pass up.

  4. Another digital convert almost totally corrupted

Nice images Matt though I’m with Neal, the second one is nicer. It seems to have more depth to it.

  5. Yea I agree guys.. the second is the pick of the bunch.

  6. Great shots again Matt :)
Agree with you all with the bottom one being my favourite .

  7. Matt, I’m with the others, the later image has more punch, but they’re both great images.

  8. Well done Matt. I prefer the second as well. I think a little more contrast on the clouds for the top image might help… but maybe not…
    Great location!

  9. Later one for me, looks a little more natural and there’s a lot more interest in the shot taken on that side of the jetty, great shot.

  10. Hey Matt, meant to ask you did you use the same setup for the second shot?

  11. Pretty much the same set up… just my shutter speed changed to about 1/15th of a sec and it is a 5 image stitch at 24mm. Wanted as much of the high cloud as I could get.

  12. Matt another thing I just thought of, do you use mirror lock up when you shot at all?

  13. I always use mirror lock up, especially with a shotty tripod!

  14. Merv.. no I don’t use mirror lock up.

Thanks for all your comments guys.

  15. I like the colours in the first image but the point of view in the second. They are both awesome!
